Weekly NFL Handicapping Schedule
It is Friday before the big football weekend and you will handicap some games before Sunday. Handicapping is studying things such as line moves, injuries, and recent trends. It is not Sunday evening and you got killed. So what did you do wrong, as you did do some research. You are an NFL handicapper that does not have realistic expectations, as you expect big profits. If you only put in an hour handicapping for Sunday’s games the results you get will reflect it. You can cram when you handicap, but you should spend a little time, not just Friday, handicapping games.- Monday – On Monday you should read all you can about the games the previous week. Just checking out the paper does not cover that. You should check out Net resources that can give rundowns of play by play for every games, which can give you important info on the performance of a team and the final score does not really matter. On Monday it is a good idea to cover what happened the previous NFL weekend.
- Tuesday – On Tuesday you should look closely at statistics and numbers from the games, as well as looking at trends for the last month. It is a good idea to look closely at turnovers, as well as yards passing and rushing.
- Wednesday – On Wednesday you can ready various quotes from not only coaches, but players as well. This will give you an indication how a team is doing in the mental aspect of the upcoming game. You can get some valuable insight in how a team will perform on Sunday by comments made during the week. Also, the injury report for the NFL generally comes out on Wednesday, but you need to be wary, as many teams will reveal their injured players while others do not.
- Thursday – Thursday should be the day that you check out the moves of the line. You need to look at injuries, suspensions, and how the public is betting on the games. If it is early on Thursday and you are not confident about your picks, you may want to hold off making them.
- Friday – On Friday you should have your picks ready and feel good about them. However, you should still look at last minute injuries and late line moves.
- Saturday – Saturday should be the same as Friday, as you need to check out late injuries and line moves. You should also read game previews on sites such as ESPN.com.
- Sunday – Enjoy the Games!
