Betting on the NBA is very popular these days and the most common bet is betting one team or another to win. However, you have to remember that betting on totals can net you some good green. Be Wary of Close Games

It does not matter how you come to your total, you will come up with one since you are handicapping the game. If the total you come up with is pretty close to the total that is posted then it may be a good idea not to wager on the game. With a total of 200 points a couple of points does not matter much. In totals betting the ones that you will probably win the most are the ones that seem distorted to you. Totals betting is much the same as other types of sports betting, as you want to make the best value bets meaning you want the edge over the sportsbook.

Keep a Keen Eye Out for Small Changes

Some injured players will have a big impact on a team’s scoring potential. Big injuries are showed in the totals and because of this they can give a bettor a small advantage. By discovering an edge you are finding small changes that have an impact that is enough to sway the total to one side or the other. An example of this would be a team that is fighting a bug, such as the flu.
