Sports betting fans today can take advantage of some seriously powerful tools to get live sports and live soccer scores, as well as using odds comparison sites to get the best odds when they place a bet on soccer, tennis, NFL, basketball, f1 and more. Long gone are the days of having to study newspapers and sports publications to gather your intel before placing a wager online. These days, technology allows application and website creators to provide users with powerful analytical tools which can analyse sports data to identify trends and display the data in useful ways to people wishing to bet on sports.
Top Sports Betting Tools
If you are serious about betting on sports online, you should invest some time to check out some of the power tools used by professional bettors. These include:
- Odds Comparison – These tools let you see upcoming sporting events and get the best head to head odds on the market, by checking the odds in realtime with the top online bookmakers – saving the user a lot of logging in to different sites to check odds.
- Live Soccer Scores – Live football results are essential as betting in play is available on a number of betting sites and betting exchanges (e.g. Betfair).
Other interesting tools include arbitrage tools which show punters bets which they cannot lose on (by exploiting market differentials), however these tools are not guaranteed to work due to caps placed on some bettors accounts by bookmakers (to minimise the odds for the “wiseguys”).

Brazil Serie A: Vitoria (12th) vs. Guarani (14th)
Vitoria at home: 4W-2D-1L, 16 scored, 13 conceded
Guarani away: 1W-3D-3L, 8 scored, 13 conceded
Vitoria have had some high-scoring matches at home this season, including their most recent home league match, a 4-2 win over Santos a week and a half ago. That marked the fifth time in their seven home league matches this season that the total has been three goals or more, and it was the fourth time this season that Vitoria have scored two or more at home.
I like their chances to hit the back of the net today against Guarani, who have given up some goals on the road. Guarani have given up two or more goals four times on the road this season, including twice in their last three road matches, both of which were 3-1 defeats (to Corinthians and Atletico Mineiro).
Vitoria have only one clean sheet at home this season, and while they’re scoring with regularity at home, they’re also giving up an average of almost two goals per game at home as well. On top of that, Guarani haven’t been shut out on the road thus far this season, so combine the two, and you have to like their chances to notch at least one, even if it’s in a losing effort – which it will be.
TOTAL PICK: Vitoria/Guarani OVER 2.5 Goals -125 (Bodog)
TOTAL PICK: VITORIA -1 +100 (Bodog) vs. Guarani

Brazil Serie A: Gremio (17th) vs. Santos (6th)
Gremio at home: 3W-2D-2L, 11 scored, 7 conceded
Santos away: 2W-2D-4L, 12 scored, 17 conceded
Goals, goals, goals.
Six of Santos’ eight away matches have seen at least three goals scored. Santos have allowed 17 goals in those eight matches, which makes their total of 12 scored look pretty shabby.
Gremio only have two clean sheets at home this season, while Santos have been blanked away from home only twice away from home so far.
When these two met in the Copa do Brasil in May, both ties were goalfests, as Gremio won the first leg at home 4-3 and Santos won the second leg at home 3-1 to advance. I expect goals, goals, goals in tonight’s meeting as well.
TOTAL PICK: Gremio/Santos OVER 2.5 Goals -140 (Bodog)

Brazil Serie A: Avai (5th) vs. Internacional (7th)
Avai at home: 5W-2D-1L, 19 scored, 10 conceded
Internacional away: 3W-0D-3L, 10 scored, 11 conceded
Just like goals have been the order of the day for Avai at home, goals have been the order of the day for Internacional away from home.
In eight home matches, Avai have scored 19 goals. Five times in those eight matches, Avai have scored two or more goals. Four times in that bunch, they’ve netted three or more times, including a 6-1 rout of Gremio Prudente to open the season.
Internacional have allowed 11 goals in only six away matches this season, and they’ve allowed two or more goals four times in those six matches. So, things look good for Avai being able to hit the back of the net at least once tonight.
All the same, another tight performance at the back after keeping holding Botafogo to only one goal in Sunday’s 1-0 away defeat could well be asking too much. Avai have only three clean sheets this season, while Internacional have been blanked only four times this season, so you have to like the away side’s chances of scoring at least once.
TOTAL PICK: Avai/Internacional OVER 2.5 Goals -150 (Bodog)

UEFA Champions League: Ajax Amsterdam vs. Dynamo Kiev
After a 1-1 draw in Kiev in the first leg of their playoff round tie, Ajax are well-positioned to advance to the group stage, but don’t expect them to sit back and defend for 90 minutes.
With Ajax having an away goal in their pocket, Dynamo Kiev need to attack, attack, attack, and as if Ajax don’t already have enough ability to go forward at will, Dynamo needing to go forward from the start will leave the Dutch side with plenty of opportunities to score and put the result beyond doubt.
An early goal for Ajax would be huge, but if it does happen, it won’t be the last goal scored in the match. If Ajax can score early, it could be more desperation than sense of urgency for Dynamo, and desperate times can lead to defensive vulnerability, which is bad news when facing the likes of Luis Suarez.
Today was a big day for overs, with the Hapoel Tel Aviv-Red Bull Salzburg tie being the only one of the five Champions League playoff ties contested today that didn’t go over 2.5 goals.
Repeating that feat could be a tough sell, but it won‘t be on the account of this one.
TOTAL PICK: Ajax Amsterdam/Dynamo Kiev OVER 2.5 Goals -140 (Bodog).
