Dodgers World Series Champs? Updated Futures
Back in May, the question was: Will the Dodgers win the World Series… Manny was just sat for 50 games due to his steroid use.
Odds to win the 2009 World Series
Arizona Diamondbacks – 400/1
Atlanta Braves – 40/1
Baltimore Orioles – 2000/1
Boston Red Sox – 9/2
Chicago Cubs – 14/1
Chicago White Sox – 30/1
Cincinnati Reds – 150/1
Cleveland Indians – 500/1
Colorado Rockies – 32/1
Detroit Tigers – 18/1
Florida Marlins – 35/1
Houston Astros – 60/1
Kansas City Royals – 500/1
Los Angeles Angels – 9/1
Los Angeles Dodgers – 11/2
Milwaukee Brewers – 45/1
Minnesota Twins – 35/1
New York Mets – 60/1
New York Yankees – 7/2
Oakland Athletics – 250/1
Philadelphia Phillies – 5/1
Pittsburgh Pirates – 400/1
San Diego Padres – 2000/1
San Francisco Giants – 25/1
Seattle Mariners – 85/1
St. Louis Cardinals – 14/1
Tampa Bay Rays – 18/1
Texas Rangers – 35/1
Toronto Blue Jays – 200/1
Washington Nationals – 5000/1
So, we can see the Dodgers are now 11/2… Slightly behind the Phils (5/1)… And Way behind the Yankees at 7/2. The Phillies made a clear commitment to their fans at the trade deadline. Both those teams come in ahead of the Red Sox (9/1). The Cubs and Cards, NL Central rivals, are next in line at a distant 14/1.
So, will the Dodgers win the world series? I don’t have the answer, but the Dodgers and Yankees would make an awesome matchup. Two historic teams (remember the Brooklyn Dodgers) and a coach who was chased out of NY to turn the Dodgers into a west coast power!
