A busy week
I’ve decided that maybe six tabling shorthanded cash games isn’t for me. I played a bunch of hands this past week, more hands than I have played some months. I only played a few tourneys and played six tables most of the time.
My graph in PokerTracker for the week looks crazy, thanks to some suckouts, coolers, lost coinflips, running KK into AA five times, etc. I know it sounds like I’m whining but I’ve had a really tough week with some really bad beats.
The good news is that I managed to be slightly profitable for the week. The bad news is that I played a ton of hands and had a ten buy-in downswing in the middle. I wish that I would have quit for the week at 7k hands and my profit margin for the week might have been a little brighter.
I checked through my hand history and there was only a little bit of spewing on my part. One example is getting all in preflop once with 88 vs. KK in a button vs. blind battle. My button raises were getting 4 bet a lot by this particular opponent and he just happened to have a hand this time. My decision to take a stand against this opponent just came at the wrong time.
I’ve decided that I’m probably going to play less hands this week and will probably switch back to 4 tabling most of the time. Playing six tables at once takes a high level of concentration that I sometimes seem to lack. I can do this easily in full ring games but really struggle during shorthanded action. I find myself unable to keep up with swifter pace while playing so many tables.
I’m going to try and post some interesting hands from this week in my next couple of blogs. There were certainly some noteworthy ones.
