Champions League and MLB action today
I am actually home this afternoon and get to watch some soccer. I have played soccer since I was about 5 years old and I still play indoors every Sunday but I really have always hated wagering on it. The low scoring and the draws always turn me off from watching the game as much as I do tennis,football or other sports but a team like Manchester United is one of those teams that is really fun to watch and wager on. This should be a great Champions League contest so lets take a look at the match up take a look ahead this afternoon for Baseball action on WGN.
Manchester United (-130) vs. Arsenal (+325)

Three-time European champions Manchester United host their English rival in the first leg of their semifinal Wednesday. What was really surprising to me was reading the fact that no team has repeated as Champions League winners since the days of the old Europe cup. This may stand as Barcelona seems to me the clearly best team but I didn’t see Man United winning last year in Moscow so who knows.
The Books have Man United as clear favorites with the line setting United as a -130 favorite while Arsenal is listed at +325. A draw match is priced at +225. I think the pk line where a draw would be a push is the safest bet because a draw would not shock me in the least. Manchester does not want to give an away goal and may play more conservative today.
Sir Alex Ferguson seems to have a full-strength squad to choose from for the game today with only Gary Neville missing after injuring his foot last week but John O’Shea is fit and could start at right-back .
Ferguson’s main problem seems to be an assortment of riches as he must figure out how to cycle players like Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov, Carlos Tevez and Cristiano Ronaldo who all played together in the second half against Tottenham on Saturday.
Arsenal may be missing defender Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs who is struggling with an ankle injury, while his likely replacement Mikael Silvestre is not certain to be involved either as he tries to shake off a back injury.
Captain Cesc Fabregas (ankle/knee) and defender Johan Djourou (knee) also got through training this morning but leading scorer Robin van Persie (groin) and left-back Gael Clichy (back) remain sidelined, while Russian midfielder Andrey Arshavin is ineligible.
I really think the safest play is the pk where a draw would be a push. The main thing Manchester United doesnt want to do is give up an away goal and may play a little tighter than usual. I am going to parlay this game with Denver in the NBA and Del Potro in tennis.

In MLB action I am going to play a day game and go with one of my favorite pitchers in Bedard and the Mariners in the first 5 innings. The White Sox bats were dead yesterday and they may struggle against Bedard today. The White Sox send Floyd to the mound who hasn’t been real consistent thus far . His whip at home is just under 2 and teams are hitting 313 against him at home. The White Sox are hitting just 227 against lefties.

This is a tough call as two great pitchers, FLA: J. Johnson (2-0, 2.20) and NYM: J. Santana (3-1, 0.70) , go up against each other. I love Santana and the Mets though Johnson and Florida could easily win this.

Added play: I have a decent day so far winning my first 5 inning play and of course the bullpen blowing my mets win but I should end up really well with Del potro and Manchester United winning, I just have one leg of a parlay left and Denver should win easily over the Hornets. I hope.
I am adding two plays, I love the hawks if they come to play tonight, I would normally lay the points but the line has really moved against me so I am going to parlay the Hawks with the Nuggets. Whoever wins should cover , no game int his series has been close but I want to watch tonight and not sweat a back door cover. I just hope Atlanta shows up.
