An unbelievable hand

Well, not really unbelievable because this kind of thing can happen. Especially in online poker where you are seeing so many more hands per hour when compared to live poker. Let’s just say you won’t see this kind of hand often. It’s actually not a hand that I participated in, but a hand that happened at the same table I was sitting at. It’s such a crazy hand that I had to tell you about it.

It was a 200NL six handed game. The two players in question both had stacks of around $350. The cutoff raised to $8 preflop and the small blind called the raise. The flop came Kd Qd Qc. The cutoff let out with a $12 bet into the $18 pot and got raised by the small blind to $35. The cutoff just called.

The turn brought the 9d making the board Kd Qd Qc 9d. The cutoff bet $65 into the $88 pot and the SB just called.

The river brought the 2s making the final board Kd Qd Qc 9d 2s. The cutoff went all in for his last $242 and the SB called his last $230. The cards were turned up and the cutoff showed Kh Qs for a flopped full house, while the SB showed the Jd 10d for a turned straight flush. The final pot was $702.

The cutoff said in chat after the hand that he pretty much knew after the turn action that the SB had Jd10d. I don’t know whether or not he was being honest or just blowing smoke but I don’t think there is anyway he could have ever folded that hand. I know I couldn’t. Sometimes in poker you can suspect that you might be beat, but your hand is so strong that you just can’t fold it. Those times are few and far between but they do happen.
