  • Raiders Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

Ronald Curry, one of the few Raiders to have been associated with the team when it was a division champion, has seen teammates fluctuate on the depth chart for reasons other than performance for years.

He just never thought it would happen to him.

Curry has been the Raiders leading receiver the past two years, even though he is often the third wide receiver. He always figured being productive when his name called would be enough.

"I've always been one of those guys that's been monkeyed around with as far as giving other guys an opportunity, coming off the field on certain routes, bringing guys in," Curry said. "I kind of got used to that. But to not play at all, basically not playing in three games and (being inactive) in one ...

Miami Dolphins' head coach Tony Sparano acknowledges the crowd after defeating the Oakland Raiders Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008 at Dolphin Stadium in Miami.

The Miami Dolphins showed again they can beat a bad team -- barely. Next comes the biggest game yet in the franchise's revival. Rookie Dan Carpenter nailed a 38-yard field goal with 38 seconds left to cap a 61-yard drive, and the Dolphins earned their fourth consecutive victory Sunday by defeating woeful Oakland 17-15.

JaMarcus Russell could only make suggestions, not deep throws, while standing on the sideline with a banged-up knee during Oakland's 17-6 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme (17) hands off the ball to teammate Brad Hoover in the first half of an NFL football game against the Oakland Raiders, Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, in Oakland, Calif. The Panthers defeated the Raiders 17-6.

It's been more than three decades since a quarterback played a game as poorly as Jake Delhomme did and still ended up on the winning side. That's what facing a team as bad as the Oakland Raiders will do. Delhomme threw a touchdown pass on the opening drive but completed only six other passes while throwing four interceptions in the Carolina Panthers' 17-6 victory over the Raiders on Sunday.

  • Russell out with knee injury for Raiders (AP)
Andrew Walter was scheduled to start at quarterback for the Oakland Raiders on Sunday in place of the injured JaMarcus Russell. Russell, who was slowed this week by tendinitis in his right knee, was listed as the third quarterback against the Carolina Panthers. Walter made his first start since Dec. 23, 2006, when he lost 20-9 to Kansas City.
